Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Alycia — the woman behind Last Chair Studio.

I’ve spent most of my career making things look good, work well, and occasionally convincing computers to do what I want. I’ve worked as a graphic designer, web designer, and web developer, which means I’ve always lived somewhere between the creative and technical sides of making things. Before Last Chair Studio, I also started two jewelry companies, because apparently one creative business at a time was never quite enough.

Last Chair Studio grew out of my original sign business, Staggs & Stags Sign Co., LLC, and became a place where a few of my favorite things could come together: design, vintage finds, the outdoors, and making something by hand. I’ve always loved the character that comes with old things — the scratches, faded graphics, weird color combinations, and little imperfections that tell you they’ve actually been somewhere. A vintage ski or snowboard already has a story. I just get to give it a second life.

We’re an outdoors-loving household, so mountains, lakes, camping, skiing, and generally finding excuses to be outside are pretty much part of the job description. I’m also a mom and a fire wife, which means life is a pretty fun mix of creative chaos, family adventures, and the occasional very different kind of red-and-yellow adventure.

Most importantly, Last Chair Studio is a woman-owned, one-woman operation. I design it, build it, photograph it, package it, answer the emails, and probably spend way too much time hunting down the perfect vintage ski. Every piece gets a lot of my time and a little bit of my personality.

I like things with history, things with a sense of humor, and things that don’t take themselves too seriously. My goal is to create pieces that feel at home in a mountain cabin, a lake house, a bar, a business, or wherever you happen to keep the good stuff.
